I just installed the new driver for my HP DeskWriter (Version 2.1) on my Mac IIcx
running system 6.0.4 running the vanilla Finder, and am having some
trouble.

Almost *immediately* after installing the new driver, I started
getting alert boxes telling me that the printer is not responding and
that I should make sure that it is turned on a connected. It took
many clicks on the OK box and pressing the "select" button on the
printer to get things going (actually, I think it never *did* get
going again; I had to cancel the printing and restart it). This has
happened sporadically and usually long print jobs. I've tried
printing with no inits loaded, but I haven't done enough printing in
that configuration to draw any specific conclusions.

Anyway... has anyone else seen this behaviour? Is there a workaround,
or do I need to go back to version 1.0 of the driver? Does anyone
have a *clue*? I'll try to gather more information, but I'm running
out of things to print (and I hate wasting paper & ink!)

Thanks in advance!
