. I have (as it says on the title line) an original PS/2 mod 50,
IBM type no. 8550-021, sitting on my desk. It's been going for about
3 years without (as far as I know) any disk maintenance. I know that
one of these days it'll be time to do a defragmentation, to say
nothing of a low-level format.
I seem to recall that IBM did some things with the design of the
disk interface (caching, or whatever) that might defeat some of the
standard disk maintenance packages. Can anyone enlighten me as to what
software I can (or can't) use to do defragging, LL format, etc. on
this beast?
Needless to say, any helpful info will be appreciated.
