My roommates and I just acquired a DN100 from a friendly college which no
longer wanted it. It is, sad to say, deeply disturbed.

Problem #1: It has an HPD15 portrait graphics display with a broken tube.
Replacing the tube is a priority, and we have some leads, but
            more leads couldn't hurt.

Problem #2: The most impressive 14" hard drive doesn't spin on power up.
Is it self-testing? Is it clearly broken? Is there some magic
dance one has to do to wake it up?

Problem #3: We don't know the root password. The current sysadmin at the
aforementioned college said he would track down the sysadmin who
actually knew it. That may fall through though.
Any help in repairing this beast and getting it running would be most highly
appreciated!
