Although its not perfect (by a long shot), the alpha release of kermit 5A
has Sunlink support with minimal X.29 pad functionality (it really needs
a lot of work to clean it up). You may wish to talk with Frank da Cruz
at Columbia about it (fdc@watsum.cc.columbia.edu).
