Does anybody have any idea if this has already been done, or
particular places to watch out for in general when porting it to weird
systems.

It appears I have convinced people to let me teach 1st year Applied
Computer Science students using Scheme....if I get a version running
on the mainframe.

To give you a flavor of the environment: line-at-a-time terminal and
file I/O; a flat directory structure for the source tree; a fairly
good C compiler.

Should be lots of fun...	thanks	../Dave
