I am having a strange problem with a DEC server 200 (DS200). I have
a port configured as "remote" and I am establishing a host initiated
connection (as you would do for printers). I have XON/XOFF enabled.

The DEC server is located in a building different from the host. The
buildings are connected with DS1 links (1.544 Megabits) and use VitaLink
bridges.

The problem is when my application attempts to close the connection to the
server. The port goes into a "disconnecting" state. The only way
to clear the problem is to logon to the DEC server and logout out the port.

Some other facts:
  1. Host is a DEC 5400 running Ultrix 4.1
  2. DEC server software is the latest release
  3. This doesn't happen all the time (about 20%)

Anybody have any ideas ?

Larry
