Oliver Laumann's "screen2" program from the comp.sources.unix archives
perhaps---but note it only runs on Berkeley/Sun systems. I've used it
to turn Hewlett Packard terminals into what seems like a vt100 for
those nasty VAX/VMS vt100 specific applications. It even lets you
suspend, logout, go home, login, reconnect... and your cursor is right
where you left it! (assumes same terminal type at work & home).
Multiple windows too.

I hope that's sort of what you wanted.
