The art ray-tracer which is part of VORT can be used to texture
RGB images onto polygons, spheres (ellipsoids), disks, rings,
cylinders, torii, cones, and superquadrics. Utilities for
converting ppm images to the VORT format are provided so that
gif, etc... format images can be used.

The ray-tracer can be found in vort.tar.Z in pub at
gondwana.ecr.mu.oz.au (128.250.1.63), where it may be got via
anonymous ftp or ACSnet.

An example image (sun raster file) that demonstrates the mappings
can also be found in pub/images/rubens.ras on the same machine.

David Hook.
