I have seen this request enough times that I know I am not the only
poor slob with an unexpandable Paradise Graphics card with 256K video RAM.
Sure I could buy a new VGA board but it hardly seems wort it to make
the one builtin to the motherboard useless just to get a few more colours.
All I want is to occasionally use Windows in 256 colour mode to edit images.

How about zapping a driver that is 640x480 into 640x400 anybody with
enough experience out there able to tell me whether I just zap a few
bits and off I go or is there more too it than that.

I have run the 640x480x256 driver on my lowlife card and I DO get 256
colours but the screen overwrites in the middle or so. It is close!

Sure I know it would be a SNAIL but for the few times, I'll wait!
