Why do my dialogs "pump" in size? If I first pop up a dialog with
(scrolled or unscrolled) text or list widget(s) in it, and then
I set the text/list data values while the dialog is popped up, the
dang dialog "pumps" itself down (sometimes up) in size, in small
increments, for anywhere from 1 to 100 iterations. I'm doing
nothing cruel or unusual to these dialogs/widgets.

(If I listen closely, though, sometimes I think I can just hear them
screaming "I'm melting! I'm melting!" ... )

I'm slaving in motif 1.0 under SCO unix.
