Subject: something better than XtCallActionProc?

For x3270, I have added a bunch of buttons below the main window. The
number is specfied via a resource, and the the action is given as a
sort of translation table entry:
	x3270.buttons: 1
	x3270.button1.label: PF1
	x3270.button1.action: key-PF1()

The problem is that I have to parse the action resource myself to pick apart
the arguments for XtCallActionProc. I can't use accelerators since the
invoking action is a always the same.

I seem to recall someone dealing with problem before, and maybe even posting
a solution.  Anyone recall?
