I've ask this question before (before I know about ~.st.tech) and no one
said anything and I still haven't gotten around to trying it yet to see if
my idea works.

Possibel idea on:

How to get a top non-scroll zone

In browsing SALAD last night I noticed a -ve variable V_CUR_OF (-30) that is
the "byte offset from screen base to top of first cell".

Could not this variable offset into the screen where the first (scrolling)
screen line would be; ie. a new (0,0) orgin. Then top area from 0 to offset
could be used as a status area.

QUESTION: What is this variable actually meant to do??
