The CDAR-500 has been around for quite some time. But the
main problem was making up a 550 megabyte disk of software for
the CD to use. What use would the CDAR be without software and
Atari didnt know what to fill the disk up with so know they have
a new program called softsource that developers are sending in
their demos so atari can make up an official CD rom disk. More
info can be found on the front cover of ST informer Sept. Issue.
There have been several writeups for the CDAR in European
magazines like ST World etc. Many CDARS can be found at main
dealers across North America but CD's are harder to find. As a
developer I can buy the CDAR it is listed at about 895.00 Canadian.
