Subject: Extra Space On Hard Disk?

I was doing a little exploring with Apple's hard disk setup utility
and found that my Apple supplied 40 Meg drive had some space left
over (something over 1 Meg if I remember right). Now, I really wasn't
suprised by this (I knew my drive was a little more than 40 Meg in
reality), but it got me wondering if I could coax my system to use
this extra space.

Can this be done? What I would really like to do is use that small
extra space as an extra volume, but I would settle for adding it
to the main volume.
