I would like to get some pointers/references to publications/papers that
deal with object-oriented design & implementation techniques for user
interfaces. I have the ACM's UI symposium proceedings but was wondering if
if there were OO-specific publications that have dealt with the issues.

Also I'd be interested in publications (or even just general opinions and
experiences) that deal with using object-oriented techniques in a non-OO
language like C. For example, the X Intrinsics Toolkit uses classes and
inheritance, but how clean is the implementation? How could things have
been better done? What are the limitations of using C as opposed to
designing the toolkit in C++ or some other OOPL?

Thanks for any info!
