I have a ROM03 GS with a 1 meg AE GS+ card, an AE Audio Animator, the
Apple High Speed SCSI Controller, a TWGS(when it's working), and a
hard drive( and a modem).

One of the many problems I have had recently has been the GS freezing
up whenever I either go to the control panel(NDA) sound CDEV and try
to change the volume or if I try to update my System.

So, I basically want to start from scratch and remove everything in my
System folder. Tools,etc...Can this be done without using an Installer,
as I've noticed a Cdev.data file, which is created by the Installer I
guess, and this file may or may not change if I install things manually.

Furthermore, the Installer on the System disks does not break items done
by type(eg. a Cdev, a Tool,etc...), and of course I can't boot the GS
from the System disk(since it doesn't have the DMA drivers). It's gotten
out of hand. I no longer know what is causing crashes, programs no
longer working- my TWGS or the GS. By the way, even if I boot the GS
from a boot disk(other than the HD) on which I have installed the HD
driver, I still get that problem with the sound Cdev. Now, the Audio
Animator is in slot 6( set to my card), the GS+ Ram in 6, the SCSI
card in 7, and the TWGS is in 3. The only setting not set to my card
is slot 2, the modem, 5 the smart port, and 7 is scan.
