Since there are plenty of 386SX and 386 laptops out there, and a few portables
with RISC processors (e.g. 88000 from Opus, and I think a couple of Sparcs),
where can I find a review of laptop performance and reliability running Unix ?

Not everybody out there can be using DOS! I hope...

Byte did a spread on 386 BOXES running Unix a while back, and I've seen
Toshibas running SCO, but so far these seem to be done for shows, and I
haven't talked to any people doing it for real.

I suppose we are mostly waiting for the next generation of true-386 laptops
with the new TI chip set, zippy portable perhiperals, etc., that are supposed
to get a Unix-capable system into a notebook, with a cellular modem and all
that. I am planning to buy within six months, and don't mind waiting for a
new machine if its release is imminent. Gotta have batteries, though.

Regards,
Craig
