For various traffic/load reasons, we get a news feed via uucp. I'd like to
use nntpxfer for a backup feed, ie, if an article doesn't make it here after
a few days, get it via nntpxfer. Doing this would require a NEWNEWS command
modification that would allow specifying the "since" time *and* a "until"
time (ie, send a list of articles that arrived after time xxx and before yyy).
It looks like a simple modification to newnews.c - has anyone done it? Any
comments?

Has anyone done anything with batching and compressing articles before
sending them via nntp?
