I noticed that on a cray X-MP under unicos

mkdir a b
mv a b

fails, while it works on the only other sysV'ish machine I have access
to (an iris from sgi). Is this a sysV restriction or a unicos
restriction, and what is the reason for it (if it's a unicos
restriction I'd expect it has something to do with keeping the fs fast
or unfragmented, but I'd be curious for more details).

Picayunely yours,
