Because it also appears to be the opinion of everyone who has studied the
technical issues, including NASA, the astronauts, the NRC, ESA, and the
Rogers Commission, and is consistent with what I know about ejection
technology.  That is, the weight of evidence very strongly suggests that
it is a fact, not just a personal opinion.  I am willing to listen to
assertions to the contrary, provided they are backed up by a detailed
technical explanation of why the weight of evidence is wrong.
