One should not put too much emphasis on this.  This is a known bug in
Dhrystone -- it puts too much weight on the string functions and uses
them in atypically favorable ways.  Many system suppliers find that it
is well worth their while to optimize the bejesus out of their string
routines for the sake of Dhrystone numbers.
