# Connecting with Adium [Adium](/https://adium.im/) is an open-source IRC client for Mac. # From the menu, select Preferences.\\ Attach:adium-preferences.png # Look for the `+` button at the bottom-left corner.\\ Attach:adium-accounts.png # Add an account for `IRC (Internet Relay Chat)`.\\ Attach:adium-add.png # Fill in the details:\\ Attach:adium-account.png # `Nickname`: the bouncer username you registered # `Hostname`: the bouncer server (it will look like example.ircnow.org) # `Password`: `username/network:password` -- For example, if your username is `john`, the network you want to connect to is `ircnow`, and the password is `abcde12345`, fill in `john/ircnow:abcde12345`. # Click on the `Personal` tab\\ Attach:adium-personal.png # `Realname`: the bouncer username you registered # `Username (ident)`: the bouncer username you registered # Click on the `Options` tab\\ Attach:adium-options.png # `Port`: 31337 # Check `Encrypt connection using SSL` # Click OK at the bottom-right corner. # If you see a message saying ZNC is not yet connected to the network, type `/znc connect` -- wait a few minutes to connect.
