(ORNL) in Tennessee is part of the Department of Energy (DOE), and
it mainly conducts research to strengthen U.S. energy resources,
environmental quality, scientific knowledge, education, and
economic competitiveness. This is where the original atomic bomb
was created. ORNL is a huge facility, and visitors can find out
about its current projects and programs, which include everything
