The Arc's Home Page

The Arc, a national organization of more than 140,000 members
across the U.S., seeks to ensure that all persons who are mentally
retarded have the opportunity to "choose and realize their goals
of where and how they learn, live, work, and play." In pursuit of
this goal, The Arc is disseminating its educational materials to
the public via the World Wide Web. Dozens of fact sheets about
mental retardation address compelling issues such as dealing with
siblings, encouraging friendships, procuring social security
benefits, investigating residential options, pursuing an
education, managing grief, and arranging for long-term or respite
care. More information on The Arc and how you can participate in
the organization is provided online.
