THE TEYLERS MUSEUM OPENS THE FIRST VIRTUAL MUSEUM IN THE
NETHERLANDS The Teylers Museum in Haarlem has been present on the
Internet since February 1995. As of today, the oldest public
museum in the country adds another first: the first virtual
museum-site in the Netherlands. By way of links, buttons and
hotspots, the visitor can stroll through the galleries and enjoy
highlights from the Teyler collection, including old master
drawings by Michelangelo and Rembrandt, the world's largest
electrostatic generator, and much else besides. Informative texts
