Mobile agents platform

x A r a ------- - Agents for Remote Actions - Ara is a computer
science research project at the University of Kaiserslautern
(Germany), aiming at the development of a portable and secure
infrastructure for the execution of mobile agents in heterogeneous
networks such as the Internet. Mobile agents are programs with the
ability to change their host machine during execution. This
enables them to handle interactions locally which conventionally
had to be performed remotely. Ara is primarily concerned with
system support for general mobile agents, and much less with
application-level features of agents, such as agent cooperation
