Before you make any major purchase, it's a good idea to become
familiar with industry terminologies so that you appear before the
seller as an informed consumer. This is certainly the case when it
comes to buying a home. If you can throw around terms like
"conventional mortgage," "encumbrance," "acceleration clause," and
"escrow," (and if you indeed know what they mean!) you're going to
be in a much better bargaining position.
