International contact information for individuals and networks are
offered here. For finding people on the Net, a number of tools are
provided: NetCom's list of white-pages servers; Knowbot, a master
directory combining millions of e-mail addresses; and a
geographical name server that includes a database for cities in
the United States, Canada, and a few other areas. If you wish to
see whether or not a particular country is hooked up to the
Internet, you should check out the link to current worldwide
network status. This provides a brief summary of networks and
their general specifications, followed by a list of countries in
alphabetical order, beside which network info is displayed. If you
prefer, several map options are available to show international
network distribution. Such information is likely to be of crucial
interest to government officials, reporters, scholars, business
travelers, and anyone else with international interests and needs.
