How far is it?

This utility does just what it says: it tells you how far it is
between two U.S. cities using tools that are available elsewhere
but are too time-consuming to find because they're in the middle
of huge Web documents. At this site you can enter either a city
name or zip code (Zip+4s are taken but not used at this time).
Alternatively, the input takes longitude and latitude coordinates,
which are useful when comparing areas outside of cities. The
database might also ask you to choose if it finds more than one
match for the place you request (frequently, city names match the
name of a county in the same state). This page also shows both
cities using the Xerox PARC (Palo Alto Research Center) Map
Viewer, which can also be accessed directly at
http://www.xerox.com/map/
