Be, Inc.

Though not truly a Macintosh site, Be, Inc., was founded by former
Apple executive Jean-Louis Gassée on the supposition that current
platforms the Macintosh included are quagmires of code designed to
ensure backward compatibility with obsolete systems. So wouldn't
it be a neat idea to start over with cutting edge technology?
That's the idea behind the BeBox, a multi-processor PowerPC-based
computer with a new object-oriented operating system. Naturally,
Gassée's company has brought a lot of Apple's sensibilities to the
project, and Macintosh developers seriously enhance Be's
