Ionia Net-Browser

This site, provided by the European Space Agency, lets you point
and click on a map of the world to get a satellite image of the
selected area. Alternatively, you can specify latitude, longitude,
and date. The software does the rest. You get a 1-km-resolution or
4-km-resolution image, which you can then adjust. The image is
color-enhanced to display one of four earth features: water, bare
soil, vegetation, or clouds. This site has 14,413 images from the
AVHRR Global Land Data Set, all of which feature this same easy
user interface.
