Network Payment Mechanisms and Digital Cash

The Network Payment Mechanisms and Digital Cash Web site is a part
of the final year project of Mike Pierce's B.A.(Mod) Computer
Science degree at Trinity College, Dublin. His project, entitled
"PayMe: Secure Payment for World Wide Web Services," consists of
his own paper and a Web site containing a collection of papers,
articles, reports, and links to Internet resources related to
network payment mechanisms and digital cash. On the press releases
page, you can find information about Cybercash, an electronic
money system; the First Bank of Internet (FBOI); the
Netscape-Mastercard secure payment plan; the Integrated Circuit
(IC) Cards for Payment Systems from Europay, Mastercard, and Visa;
the Mondex Digital Cash System; and other press releases from
companies experimenting with electronic payment mechanisms. The
site contains links to many related resources, as well as a
bibliography of Mike's information sources.
