Smart Store Virtual is a Web site put together by Andersen
Consulting, which contains information on virtual commerce
research and dialogue. Besides containing information about the
world of virtual retailing, the site also has discussions about
other emerging industries within Electronic Commerce. One of the
research projects going on at Smart Store Virtual is the
BargainFinder, an experimental electronic shopping agent. After
typing in the name of a musical artist and album, Bargain Finder
will check seven different online music stores for product and
shipping prices, then report back to you almost instantaneously
with the results. The site also contains links to some of the
really well-designed virtual retail stores, so that businesses can
get an idea of what to think about before going online. There is
also a Smart Store Virtual bulletin board where users can comment
on the site and the research projects going on.
