Museum Trips ============ The JASON Project sponsors an annual scientific expedition focusing on curriculum development for grades 4 through 8. During the expedition, students can take part in live, interactive programs that are broadcast using state-of-the-art technology to a network of educational, research, and cultural institutions in the United States, Mexico, Bermuda, and the United Kingdom. This "electronic field trip" has taken students to look at giant tubeworms at hydrothermal vents in the Sea of Cortés, to the rain forest canopy in Belize, to a lava flow on the island of Hawaii, to the coral reefs off Florida, and other unique environments. Students have observed data collected in real-time, heard a live underwater broadcast from a diver, and questioned scientists working in the field using a special two-way satellite audio system.
