This commercial Web site is devoted to users of Mathcad, a
mathematical software tool for mathematicians, scientists,
teachers, and students. MathSoft also distributes a free Web
browsing application called Mathbrowser, which allows you to view
and explore Mathcad documents over the Internet. Mathbrowser is a
32-bit Windows application based on Mathcad version 5.0. Much of
the browser functionality, as well as many other new features, are
now part of Mathcad 6.0. If you've never used Mathcad before and
want to browse the Web and see what people are doing with Mathcad,
downloading the Mathbrowser is one good way to start. Note that
the new HTML 3.0 specifications will allow the next generation of
Web browsers to display special math symbols, so Mathbrowser may
not be as useful for viewing equations. However, for experimenting
with variables and actually performing calculations online,
Mathbrowser can't be beat. There is also introductory material on
how to publish Mathcad files on your Web server, as well as how to
explore the Web with Mathbrowser, complete with examples.
