Virtual Tour of the Palace of Diocletian This site provides a tour
of the Roman Empire palace called the Split, or Spaloto. Built in
305 A.D. by the Emperor Diocletian for his retirement, it is
extraordinarily wellpreserved. Navigate the ruins by clicking
images to view photographs and read historical insights and
interpretations. Part of EXPO, the exhibit attempts a "real world
look and feel" and links to other EXPO exhibits such as the
Vatican and the Dead Sea Scrolls. A bookstore, map, and "ticket
