Show HN: Krita RGBA Tech - Exploring Filter Engines in Open-Source
Art
Hello everyone! Last november, I made realistic metallic brushes
for Krita. This time, I dived into the "filter brush engine" to
create convenient ways to add thickness to paintstrokes (e.g.
emboss), something which can make digital art look more appealing
or traditional. I also created a special eraser which pays
attention to the "height" of your brushwork, via an edge-detection
filter + eraser blending mode. If there are any FOSS artists
around, feel free to try them out \+** **+/ Previous Show HN

| That's really cool. I am always impressed about that people are

| Thanks for your work on this! Unrelated but if you haven't tried

| It's basically GIMP but unburdened by 30 years of legacy code.

| Wow - I'm surprised Krita has been in development that long.
| It just qualitatively _feels_ much more modern than GIMP.
| Maybe it 's because I focus more on drawing making heavy use
| of the brush system which IMHO is significantly better in
| Krita.
