       | I'm a software engineer who's transitioned from IT support, where
       | I learned to troubleshoot and solve technical issues in fast-
       | paced environments. That experience gave me a strong foundation
       | in problem-solving and a knack for keeping things running
       | smoothly. Since moving into software engineering, I've co-
       | developed Reverb (https://reverb-app.github.io ), an event-based
       | workflow orchestration engine, and contributed to ZenML's Visual
       | Studio Code extension ( https://www.zenml.io/blog/dag-
       | visualization-vscode-extension ), working on features like DAG
       | rendering. This journey from IT support to engineering has given
       | me a unique perspective and a well-rounded skill set that I'm
       | excited to bring to new challenges.

       | I'm a product designer with a passion for crafting user
       | experiences that are not just visually appealing but also
       | intuitive and enjoyable to use. Whether it's a simple app or a
       | complex business solution, I specialize in designing data-heavy
       | interfaces that turn intricate information into clean, user-
       | friendly designs.
       |
       | I'm dedicated to seeing projects through from the first
       | brainstorming session to the final launch. I love taking on
       | complex challenges and transforming them into elegant, easy-to-
       | use solutions. My approach is hands-on and detail-oriented: I
       | dive deep into planning, create detailed prototypes, and ensure
       | every pixel is in the right place before a product goes out the
       | door. I believe in the power of data-driven design, but I also
       | never forget the importance of making products that users will

       | Hi, I'm Romain.
       |
       | I recently finished my stint as a Ruby on Rails backend developer
       | at [Barnardo's](https://www.barnardos.org.uk/). I was a backend
       | developer instrumental in the development of Journey, a platform
       | that helps young people leaving the care system plan their
       | progression to independence and puts them in control of their
       | progress. I was involved in its technical development from `rails
       | new`.
       |
       | Ideally I'd like to stay in the charity / tech for good area but
       | I'm also open minded to work on something new. I love to learn
       | and am quick to pick up new skills.
       |
       | I'm looking forward to tackling new and exciting challenges.

       | I am a data engineer / full stack dev / bioinformatician, with a
       | number of turns in my career so far. After graduating from a
       | prestiguous university and landing a high earning job in 2014, I
       | left it in 2016 for a role in a research institute, and then
       | worked in life sciences and did contract work on the side, until
       | in 2022 AI became big and I joined a healthcare start-up. The
       | start-up was a fine gamble but did not really work out so since
       | April this year I'm temporarily hacking on a non-commercial
       | project on the side to being a dad, and looking for more
       | opportunities to do worthwhile work.
       |
       | I am good at turning prototypes into products, orienting myself
       | in novel domains, and improving bad codebases.
       |
       | Over the years I was able to do plenty of meaningful work, in
       | academic, commercial, and non-profit contexts, and I would quite
       | like to continue. If my profile - the CV or one of the

       | I am an Android programmer and I know a number of Android
       | programmers (including myself) at different levels who may be
       | interested in opportunities. This is more for the others than
       | myself but I'll start with myself - they're my friends so I'm not
       | looking for a finder's fee or anything for them.
       |
       | I myself work on a large company's Android app which has heavy
       | usage and yearly revenues in the hundreds of millions. Have
       | programmed Android for some years. I have some past experience in
       | a lot of IT/tech type things. To make things easy for you, I am
       | not looking to leave for less than $200k (somewhat liquid) total
       | compensation, although if it is an ML/AI-focused company I might
       | be willing to take tens of thousands less. I am willing to
       | relocate, and am willing to work in-person, hybrid or remote. As
       | I'm not actively looking, my interview skills for system design
       | are probably abysmal in an interview sense, and Leetcode is
       | probably middling (I just started practicing Leetcode).
       |
       | I just worked with an Android programmer who has 30 years
       | experience as a programmer, and over 6 years experience as an
       | Android programmer. He knows Android on a technical level better
       | than I do. If you are looking for a programmer to quickly shovel
       | out features in a crummy way, he is not the person for you. If
       | you need someone to thoroughly architect for features and the
       | entire app, consider all obvious (and non-obvious) edge and
       | corner cases, make suggestions, including for better interaction
       | with the backend, he is someone you want to talk to. He is very
       | averse to companies that want to do a Leetcode interview and he
       | probably does not have that two pointer, sliding window, binary
       | search, BFS/DFS stuff top of mind as some people do. For what he
       | does he is pretty good. He would want to work remote, but I am
       | sure would be willing to fly in a few times a year.
       |
       | I used to work with a junior/associate level programmer at my big
       | company, he went back to school to learn CS and is graduating
       | soon. He knows Android at a junior/associate level, and has been
       | studying other things in his CS classes. If you need an intern,
       | or a junior/associate level programmer for Android (or other
       | things), he is good. He is not senior though.
       |
       | As I'm an Android programmer, I tend to know a number of Android
       | programmers, although we three are somewhat available, but I know
       | many others as well. So if you need an Android programmer let me
       | know (if it is for one doing a lot of React Native, I know some
       | who do that but less).

       | [https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=31518945], I am looking for
       | similar work. I am a European software developer who has lived

       | am in the process to relocate to Africa.
       |

       | living in an area where my work is going to have an impact gives
       | me a better understanding of the needs of the location I am

       | users or just by being part of a local community and learning
       | about the reality of living there.
       |
       | I have more than a decade of experience running a company, doing
       | software development, support and training and mentoring adults
       | and students, as well as working on educational projects, and I
       | am willing to take on a mixture of roles as needed to support a
       | project.
       |
       | I am also open to work for a company anywhere as long as the work
       | can be done fully remote from Africa.
       |
       | In addition, I want to use part of my income to hire local
       | interns and junior developers and train them in order to pass on
       | my experience. If you want to support this, I would love to work
       | with you. Also if you are interested in hiring African developers

       | Ex-FAANG. I've spent my recent career leading engineering teams
       | of 10+ to ship world class products. Expertise in managing
       | product timelines, overseeing architectural
       | design/implementation, & keeping companies ahead of their
       | competition. As an IC, I love to dig deep into technical
       | problems, ship products with full autonomy/ownership, and make
       | products look beautiful (see some old work at
       | www.beaver.digital).
       |
       | I have been getting wonderful offers from great companies but am
       | still on the job market because I suffer from an unfortunate
       | health condition that makes my sleep rather erratic. My working
       | efficiency is still exceptional, energy levels are great, and my
       | output is the best it's ever been, but I sometimes start work as
       | late as 10:30am pst which is unacceptable for most companies.
       | Anyways, if this won't be a problem for your team I'm happy to
       | hear from you. I'll be happy to make accommodations for you if
       | you're willing to make this one for me.
       |
       | I'm excited to hear from you! :)

       | I'm currently working as a non-founding CTO for a small-ish AAA
       | game company (my reports: 34, company size 51) where I have built
       | a team that is really solid- it hurts to leave but I'm very open
       | to becoming an IC again.
       |
       | My background is classical sysadmin (sysadmins who could write C
       | and Perl) and I was trained by former Google SRE's over a decade
       | ago. Since that; I've shipped multiple AAA video games (The
       | Division and The Division2, VtM: Bloodhunt) where I focused on
       | online infrastructure in mixed environments (Windows, Linux,
       | BSD). I've navigated politics of 20,000+ person companies and
       | consistently _delivered_ in companies of <100. - before games I
       | worked in SaaS and e-commerce products in highly secure
       | environments.
       |
       | I would ideally find a role in working with _hard_ problems
       | related to orchestration of physical machines (as eking out
       | efficiency and automating awkward things is where I find the most
       | joy), working in a high trust environment where I am expected to
       | be self-motivated. I work with a very high degree of pride and
       | this can be a blessing in many situations as I have always gone
       | above and beyond what is needed and adapted to needs to get the
       | best solution available.
       |
       | I am adaptable, and hardworking, my only true desire is to be
       | proud of what I do.
       |
       | I'm willing to relocate anywhere for the right job, I have worked
       | fully remote before and have a good working setup, but in the
       | early months I find it much better to be able to synchronise
       | context face to face.
       |
       | I'm a dual British and Swedish citizen, if that matters at all.

       | Howdy! I'm a senior frontend software engineer that enjoys
