| "Physics of Semiconductor Devices" was a very useful and clearly-
| written book I read in the 90s - I must still have my copy
| somewhere. I didn't know the author had made such groundbreaking
| discoveries.

| Surreal. I am currently studying this book for a university
| class, and the moment I take a break and check HN I see this.

| This is your sign to continue studying ;)

| May I ask what course are you taking? I am interested in
| learning more background on semiconductors so I'm curious
| what you are studying.
| jamesik wrote:
| Sure. I'm currently in the 1st year of a master's in
| nanotechnology. I'm taking courses in quantum physics,
| semiconductor physics, semiconductor devices and materials
| physics.
|
| The semiconductor devices course follows Simon Sze's book
| almost 1:1. I've found Neamen's "Semiconductor Physics and
| Devices" and Kasap's "Principles of Electronic Materials
| and Devices" also excellent for additional explanations.

| Sad. I was lucky to have a few professors that were his coworkers
| at Bell Labs. They spoke very highly of him. His book is still
| instrumental in the field.
