| This is awesome. I really like the idea of rysolv.
|
| How are you handling issues that go unsolved but have funding
| remaining on them?
| themanmaran wrote:
| Right now there is no expiration on the bounty. But it's
| definitely something we're thinking through.
|
| Two ideas right now:
|
| - Just have it returned to the user.
|
| - At some point the bounty goes into a general fund for that
| project.

| Hey all! Launched the beta for rysolv 6 months ago, and have been
| working on a lot of features since then.
|
| How it works:
|
| - Anyone can add a bounty to an issue
|
| - When the issue is closed / PR merged the bounty is awarded
|
| Major updates since beta:
|
| - Dropped the 10% rysolv fee.
|
| - Added repo donations. So a portion of bounties are contributed
| back to the maintainers (https://rysolv.com/how-to#bounties)
|
| - Ton of work on recommendations. Trying to match uses with the
| right issues, and encouraging repeat contributors.
|
| Looking forward to any feedback / suggestions!

| This is actually really interesting. Open source is the future of
| software and incentivizing communal efforts makes sense. Are you
| taking any commissions on it though?
| themanmaran wrote:
| We're not taking commissions on any of the bounties.
|
| We started off with that mindset, but it didn't really make
| sense as a business decision, and I don't find the those kind
| of fees fair for users.
|
| For monetizing, we're working on a buildout where closed source
| companies can list issues as well. Which will operate more like
| a typical freelancing platform.
