| Very experienced developer who has mostly previously worked in
| the enterprise world as a contractor/consultant. I'm now keen to

| Strengths are:
|
| * One zillion years of Java - I've seen it all
|
| * An appreciation of documentation - I like reading it and, more
| unusually, writing it
|
| * Pretty good at talking to other humans too

| I'm a Computer Engineering grad looking for my first job.
|
| Why Hire me:
|
| - I'm a jack of all trades, having delved into everything from
| Deep Learning to Application Security. - My current interest lies
| in Infrastructure/Platform/Cloud engineering, primarily
| Kubernetes and Containers. I'm also intrigued by Terraform. - I
| learn new things quickly, and like the iterative way of building.
| - I'm young and hungry to build.
|
| Why not to hire me:
|
| - You're looking for an experienced engineer. I'm just out of
| college and will be needing mentorship. - I'm a jack of all
| trades, and master of none. I know most things deep enough to be
| able to converse well, but will be needing time to actually
| implement. - I have student loans to pay off, so please don't
| lowball me. - No job agencies/contractors please.
|
| Thanks and have a wonderful day!

| I'm an experienced Data scientist, who's worked on a bunch of
| interesting projects. With Covid I've come to realize I need to
| work in public more often. So an ideal fit would be a
| small/medium company with hair on fire problems that need

|
| What sort of problems do I like?
|
| Well a Taxi company in latam hired me to built a fleet
| maintenance system. It predicted and scheduled preventative
| maintenance to reduce wear and tear and avoid breakdowns. We also
| identified the leading cause of wear - leadfoot drivers. So we
| built a system that would identify aggressive driving.
|
| Another example was a speculative sports highlights annotation
| system I built with a consultancy. It ingested sports video and
| identified predetermined highlights in baseball - diving catches
| in our case. The ML pipeline was a CNN model which fed into an
| RNN. Given a bunch of video clips of diving catches as training
| data, it could later identify those diving catches and
| automatically annotate the video feeds.
|
| Who shouldn't contact me.
|
| If your market is Ads or gambling I'm not interested. Sure
| there's lot of money, but I'd rather sleep at night. Thanks.
|
| Things I'd love to work on:
|
| ML security and safety. Can your DS process be made to give up
| its internal workings? Can I subvert it to cause unsafe
| conditions? Almost no one is thinking about these questions, and
| I'd like the chance to.

|

|
| - Machine learning or computer vision, as long as ownership of my

|
| - Recent work with cryptocurrency trading APIs.
|
| - Also have some projects over the years with C++, such as
| Vintage Simulator (programmable emulator frontend,
| https://vintagesimulator.com).
|
| - Also experienced with C# but probably prefer to avoid Microsoft

|
| - Have done a few IOT-ish projects, one with a Rasp Pi which was
| a home server (Node.js) with email, storage and other
| applications, some really nice RGB LEDs which we spent way too
| long on (used some C/C++ for part of that), and a multiplexing

| server/page that used the HTML5 gamepad API to steer the robot.
|
| - Built many relational and NoSQL databases over the years and
| have made my own time series database for a certain application.
|
| - Created many interactive and non-interactive graphs/graphics

| position: Senior Developer/Engineering Manager/Software Architect
|
| I have been employed in software development for almost 10 years
| and have written code for significantly longer. I am a deep
| specialist in databases and a good generalist in most other
| areas. I built myself as a T-shaped developer. I have worked
| databases, back-end, front-end (web and native, mobile and
| desktop) and testing throughout my time. With databases, I have
| experience with everything from relational algebra theory (I
| studied C.J. Date) to database design and normalisation to query,
| procedure and index optimisation. Throughout my career, I have
| developed a systemic viewpoint and an ability to understand how
| different components of a project and different teams interact
| together, all in order to walk the path of technical leadership.
| As a true engineer, I understand the importance of measuring
| before changing. Also, I am a sociable person and I have a
| teaching degree and have taught on numerous occasions with
| excellent results. Due to my experience, I am currently aiming
| for a software architect/engineering manager/team lead role, or a
| role with growth opportunities toward a similar tech leadership
| position, a position in which I can grow and polish the skills of
| colleagues. From a tech stack POV, I am most excited by
| opportunities to work in Rust and opportunities to work on free
| open-source software. If you are looking to make the world a
| better place and need an engineer contact me.

| [Why me?]
|
| I'm product/user focused. I love interviewing users, making quick
| prototypes and doing research. An example of how I work in one of
| my side projects (scroll down): https://random-
| character.com/whatisthis
|
| I've been quite successful in product/manager jobs, and I'd like
