       | To me a lot of this boils down to having an adequately sized team
       | and doing iterative development.
       |
       | There are a lot of contracts out there with similar scope and
       | less than half of the people to work on it.

         | In most of the orgs the process is handled by the devs even
         | though managers believe they use SCRUM or Kanban. Often it is
         | actually XP.

           | Right because most experienced developers know they need to
           | do something like XP in order to have a successful project
           | and they are used to working around managers.

       | What's with posting this in multiple blogs? Is it some SEO or

       | That aside, I was actually more curious to read the mentioned
       | "Thoughts on mistakes" essay, but it was apparently published
       | only in newsletter form because the link in the article leads to
       | the newsletter subscription page.

         | The first link (on webup.org) is the original one. The rest is
         | someone else copy-pasting the content on their websites without
         | permission. But Google does have its tools to detect such a
         | scam.

         | About the newsletter in the article: I think you can join
         | Nicholas' mail list and reply to one of his emails or DM him on
         | Twitter. He is a nice guy and will probably send you the
         | "Thoughts of mistakes".
