And here's why: Our industry focuses on technical architecture so much, we've forgotten the importance of human empathy. A reminder: we're not building software for software's sake, but to improve people's lives. The longer I've been in this game, the more I notice that the best teams love psychology. They use studies on the human mind to craft the most user-friendly experience possible. Obviously, our teams geek out over the technical side of things - and that's important. But without any real empathy for the user, it's all kind of useless. After all, why does it matter how much we like our software...
