This game works with: Mini vMac

Where are all the humans? Upon returning from your 100 year voyage in
the milky way, you find earth empty and abandoned. Between the
decaying remnants of civilization, you discover a terminal for
Worldnet, the global network that recorded all human activities. The
answer must lie deep in its database. Anxious, you log on.

Portal is a computer novel - an attempt of creating and adapting a
novel specifically for the computer. The story of the boy Peter
Devore, his incredible discovery and the mysterious portal are told
by an AI named Homer, who reconstructs it piece by piece out of
database fragments. As the plot develops, you acquire accompanying
information by accessing eleven additional databases - for example a
historical archive, military files or social backgrounds. As you
switch between the databases to uncover new details, an extensive
sci-fi story unfolds.

Download #4 contains all 3 images, compressed with DropStuff 4

Download #5 contains all 3 images in .dsk format to allow saving in
Mini vMac.

Compatibility
Architecture: 68k

Designed for Macintosh 512 and Plus.
When emulating with Mini vMac use the .dsk files (download #5) and
set the emulation speed to 1x.

Important: Portal is a booter, and must be inserted as the Macintosh
boot disk. Do not run the game from within the operating system, as
it will lock up.

When I was really into vintage Macs 4-5 years ago, I remember
searching high and low for this game. It was one of those weird
releases where people vaguely remembered seeing it but there was zero
confirmation that it actually existed. Thanks for tracking it down,
forking out the money, and sharing it with the community.
