How do I safely remove my new Texas Instruments calculator from the packaging? Texas Instruments products are packaged in heat-sealed clamshells to prevent damage to the product during shipping and to ensure the accessories for that product are not lost or stolen. To open the package, 1) Turn to the back of the packaging. For TI-83 Plus, TI-84 Plus, TI-84 Plus Silver Edition and TI-89 Titanium product and locate a small circular hole at the lower left-hand corner. For TI-Nspire(tm) and TI-Nspire(tm) CAS product locate a "Vee" shaped tab at the lower right-hand corner. An embossed image of a pair of scissors is visible near the opening. 2) Insert the tip of a pair of scissors into the opening and cut upward along the convex grove in the plastic. 3) Make additional cuts from left to right along the top and bottom from the opening that is now created. It should now be possible to remove the calculator and its accessories from the packaging.
