What can I do with Sorbay?

Sorbay allows you to quickly create and share screen- and camera
recordings. It comes in two parts: A desktop client and a backend
service to store, organize and share recordings.

  * Desktop App available for macOS, Windows and Linux.
  * Videos are streamed to the backend while recording and can be
    shared as soon as you are finished.
  * Open Source: Stay secure and compliant by having full control of
    all your recordings.

Jannis and Alex met in 2020 during the lockdown with an initial focus
on building a startup for a different idea. During the build process
a lot of their communication was done via screen recordings.

Being a long time Open Source advocate, Jannis pushed for a
self-hosted screen recording option. However, there was nothing
available that gave the simple experience they were looking for. This
is when the idea of Sorbay was born.

Jannis has built a successful Open Source startup before while Alex
brings a cross between product and marketing to help push Sorbay's
growth.
