Pgiam/Getty Images A sheriff's office in Louisiana is warning the public to be on the lookout after a Texas woman was reportedly poisoned by a napkin on her birthday last week. Erin Mims from Houston said she was hospitalized after touching a napkin she found stuffed in her door handle. In a viral Facebook post, Mims said she and her husband ate at Prospect Park on the Northside of House before heading to the spa for her birthday on Wednesday, August 17. After touching the napkin stuffed in her car door, Mims said her fingertips started tingling and she felt some pain in her chest five minutes later. Her husband drove her to a nearby hospital, where doctors performed blood work, urine testing, and a CAT scan. Mims said in her Facebook video that she spent about six and a half hours at the hospital after the incident. The doctor gave her a diagnosis of "acute poisoning from an unknown substance," according to Mims. "Just for everybody, all the women in Houston, and just everywhere, be careful when you're out," she continued. "Pay attention to your surroundings. Just be careful, be safe." The sheriff's office said that sometimes cases like these are attributed to attempted kidnapping. "We share this with you so that you are simply aware," the sheriff's office wrote in a Facebook post. "If you are out and about and experience anything on your vehicle that had not been there before, do not remove it with your bare hand. Use caution."
