Tuesday 21st June 2022 Global Proton VPN infrastructure reboot campaign For the next few weeks, as part of our continuous effort to maintain the optimal performance and security of our servers, we will be performing an upgrade and reboot campaign of all our VPN servers. This will require each VPN server exit to be set into maintenance mode for brief periods of time. We apologise for the inconvenience, and will share updates once the upgrade campaign is complete. Wednesday 1st June 2022 Regular VPN Servers VPN connectivity issues in Russia (Problemy s podkliucheniem k VPN v Rossii) We are currently investigating the issue, but it is not caused by any changes on our side. It is likely that the local ISPs and the authorities are interfering with VPN connections, in which case it may not be possible for us to solve such issues. Some servers may continue to work. Tuesday 14th June 2022 Tuesday, June 14th Incident On Tuesday, June 14th at 17:30 UTC, during a regular server migration which was being performed to improve infrastructure reliability, we experienced a failure. This failure unfortunately triggered a bug on database version we currently run and locked transactions for 12 minutes for up to 60% of the users. The service was completely restored at 17:42 UTC. The root cause of this outage is fully understood and being addressed. Proton infrastructure teams are engaged fully engaged to provide our community with world class reliability and we apologize for the inconvenience cause by this incident. Thursday 2nd June 2022 Regular VPN Servers General ProtonVPN Free servers connectivity issue Following a configuration update across the whole free servers' suite, due to a bug, OpenVPN and IKEv2 based connections weren't possible.
