This is the next step in the journey to migrate OpenVMS to the x86-64 platform. The E9.2 release allows you to use the operating system with some of the most commonly-used hypervisors and includes a host of newly migrated applications. --------------------------------------------------------------------- What is OpenVMS on x86 VMS Software, Inc. is migrating OpenVMS and its layered products to the industry standard x86_64 architecture, to help customers protect their investment in OpenVMS infrastructure, especially in virtualized environments and in the cloud. OpenVMS E9.2 is available to all VMS Software, Inc. customers as their valuable feedback will contribute to the quality of the first production release, V9.2. For planned release dates, please see the roadmap. For hypervisors on which OpenVMS has been tested by VSI, please scroll down to the bottom of the page. See lists of open source and layered products working on OpenVMS for x86. Field Test Participation You can participate in the field test if you are a customer or partner of VSI with a valid support contract. Please fill in this form to receive credentials for the Service Platform where you will be able to download files and report issues. See below for instructions on how to use the Service Platform. To determine if your hardware can run OpenVMS E9.2, run this Python script on the hardware in question. Information on the virtual machine hosts tested by VSI is provided below and in the release notes. If you need to compile and link your source code, you will need an Integrity running OpenVMS V8.4-2L1 or higher because OpenVMS V9.1-A does not have native compilers yet.
