Joined: 27 Jan 2003 Posts: 1338 This is the first game that has exclusively been designed for Location: the REU, to make a fast and smooth full-screen scrolling version Netherlands of Sonic with little compromises. This game is a direct port of the SEGA Master System 8-Bit version of Sonic the Hedgehog, with about 64 KB of code hand-translated from the Z80 to the 6502 architecture. The game will be released as a free download in the coming weeks (exact release date to be announced). It requires a C64 or C128 (in C64 mode), a compatible REU of at least 256 KB, a compatible drive (.d64 and .d81 images will be provided) and any joystick or gamepad (no extra buttons required). On NTSC, a C128 or other CPU accelerator is highly recommended. In the mean time, here's a trailer and some screenshots: Link [sonic_1][sonic_2] [sonic_3][sonic_4] Back to top View user's profile Send private message _ commodorejohn PostPosted: Mon Dec 13, 2021 3:17 pm Post Reply with quote Jack The Nipper subject: Jack The Nipper ---------------------------------------------------------------- Ahaha, well-done Very Happy I'll be sure to grab it before the takedown notice hits Wink Joined: 10 May 2014 _________________ Posts: 664 Computers: Amiga 1200, DEC VAXStation 4000/60, DEC MicroPDP-11/ Location: 73 Sacramento, CA Synthesizers: Roland JX-10/SH-09/MT-32/D-50, Yamaha DX7-II/V50/ TX7/TG33/FB-01, Korg MS-20 Mini/ARP Odyssey/DW-8000/X5DR, Ensoniq SQ-80, E-mu Proteus/2, Moog Satellite, Oberheim SEM Back to top View user's profile Send private message Visit poster's website _ IsaacKuo PostPosted: Mon Dec 13, 2021 3:32 pm Post Reply with quote Joe Blade subject: Joe Blade ---------------------------------------------------------------- This is really cool. Another first for me. I never ever did play Super Mario Bros on the NES. Don't think I ever did see a Nintendo console Joined: 26 Jul 2009 before the SNES. I just to hang with a DJ at a clubhouse back in Age: 43 the day and I remember watching gameplay of Sonic on a Sega Posts: 571 console, but I'm sure I didn't play myself. I do recognize the Location: Norway music though and I must say it sounds even better with the SID. Looking forward to play this. I guess it will work fine with my SCPU. _________________ NUMBERS; Blood's clones. There are 5 of them: Number 1, Number 2, Number 3, Number 4 and that son of a bitch Number 5... Just incredible after SMB now Sonic on the old C64! Joined: 22 Aug 2003 Posts: 175 Some observations: Location: Belgium - SEEEEEEEEEEGAAAAAAAAA startup logo - will there be sound effects? Is it just for the video that they're not there? - REU is cool, but maybe a .crt version for using with the U2+ could be handy as well? (nvm I guess the REU is needed if I'm understanding things correctly) Last edited by raffie on Mon Dec 13, 2021 4:50 pm; edited 2 times in total Back to top View user's profile Send private message _ VincentGR PostPosted: Mon Dec 13, 2021 4:45 pm Post Reply with quote Bionic Granny subject: [1987791327] ---------------------------------------------------------------- Incredible!!!
